Launch of a Collaborative Project with UNICEF Sierra Leone
In November 2025, JaSiLe Foundation—the local partner organization of Alazi Dream Project Japan—held an official coordination meeting with UNICEF Sierra Leone in Kenema District.
During the meeting, both organizations discussed concrete collaboration plans to strengthen support for young single mothers, enhance sex education programs, and improve nutritional practices in the region. As a result, the following four points were agreed upon:

1. Participation of Teenage Single Mothers in Nutrition Cooking Demonstrations
It was agreed that, in collaboration with UNICEF Sierra Leone, teenage single mothers supported by Alazi Dream Project Japan will be able to participate in nutrition cooking demonstrations held in Kenema District.
Through these demonstrations, the young mothers are expected to gain nutritional knowledge and practical cooking skills, contributing to improved health outcomes for their families and communities.
2. Visit to the Under-5 Clinic
To gain a deeper understanding of the current state of nutritional support, Alazi Dream Project Japan was invited to visit an Under-5 Clinic with UNICEF Sierra Leone.
By observing the clinic’s processes and challenges firsthand, Alazi Dream Project Japan aims to strengthen its maternal and child health initiatives with more informed and effective approaches.
3. Addition of Nutrition Sessions to the Comprehensive Sex Education Manual
Both parties agreed to incorporate a nutrition-focused section into Alazi Dream Project Japan’s Comprehensive sex education program.
This enhancement will enable young people—particularly girls who have experienced early pregnancy—to acquire essential knowledge to safeguard their own health and the health of their children.
4. Regular Collaborative Meetings
Finally, Alazi Dream Project Japan and UNICEF Sierra Leone agreed to hold regular collaborative meetings to maintain close communication and strengthen joint efforts.
This will enable both organizations to respond more effectively and promptly to local challenges.

Additional Report: Visit to the Malnourished Children Feeding Program
Following the meeting, UNICEF Sierra Leone invited Alazi Dream Project Japan to observe the Malnourished Children Feeding Program at the Government Hospital in Kenema.
During the visit, we were able to witness the care process led by local medical staff and observe how therapeutic feeding is provided to support children’s nutritional recovery.
This visit provided valuable insights that will directly contribute to improving the quality of Alazi Dream Project Japan’s future maternal and child nutrition supports.
This meeting marks an important step forward in strengthening the impact of Alazi Dream Project Japan’s initiatives in maternal health and youth support across Sierra Leone.
We will continue to collaborate with UNICEF Sierra Leone and other partner organizations to build a brighter future for children, young people, and mothers in the country.
