Through this training, teachers will be able to deliver sexuality education classes continuously and effectively in their schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a pilot initiative, ten teachers from five schools in Kenema are participating in the first round of training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the launch of the program, representatives from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health attended the session. During the meeting, the participants confirmed their cooperation and shared agreements on future collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This training program is supported by the <strong>JICA Fund<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u25a0 <\/strong>Official Support from the Ministry of Education<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alazi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-20-at-20.51.41-1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21927\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kenema District Education Office reaffirmed that education on <strong>adolescent health, sexuality, and bodily rights<\/strong> is already recognized as part of the civic education curriculum in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry emphasized that this training program is an important initiative to ensure that these topics are effectively taught in classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teachers who complete the training will receive certificates of completion and are expected to take a leading role in implementing sexuality education within their respective schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, several measures were proposed and agreed upon to strengthen the institutional framework surrounding student protection and support. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Installing <strong>suggestion boxes<\/strong> in schools where students can safely raise concerns or seek help<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing <strong>school-based child protection committees<\/strong> to safeguard students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing <strong>regular updates to the Ministry of Education<\/strong> on the progress of activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These mechanisms aim to create a system that allows schools and authorities to respond to problems at an early stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u25a0 <\/strong>Strong Collaboration with the Ministry of Health<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/jasilefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-20-at-20.52.02-1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jasilefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-20-at-20.52.02-1-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/jasilefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-20-at-20.52.02-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/jasilefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-20-at-20.52.02-1-768x576.jpeg 768w, http:\/\/jasilefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-20-at-20.52.02-1.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The District Health authorities in Kenema also expressed strong support for this initiative and confirmed their commitment to working closely with the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key areas of collaboration include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthening cooperation with <strong>school health clubs<\/strong>, student groups that learn about health and well-being<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting the establishment of health clubs in schools where they do not yet exist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouraging peer learning opportunities where students can share knowledge and experiences with one another<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanding learning opportunities for <strong>parents and community members<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborating with medical institutions to conduct research and better understand the current situation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The implementation of these proposals will be carefully considered, and surveys may be conducted to assess the current situation.
